As the shift in nature to the cooler, cosier, and darker days of Autumn is upon us, join Karine in honouring this transition with a 2-hour Yin and Yoga Nidra Workshop.
This Yin and Yoga Nidra Workshop will help us to slow down, embrace the changes within nature, but also within ourselves.
We are not separate from nature, so perhaps you feel a natural shift within yourself during this time, a time to reflect upon what part or parts of your own life might be out of balance, and how to cultivate more balance mentally, emotionally, and physically.
In Traditional Chinese Medicine Autumn is a time for resting, reflection, letting go of anything that may no longer serve us, as we move into the darker months.
The workshop will allow us to tune in with the Earth element, which exists between every seasonal transition, working through asana that will stimulate the stomach and spleen meridians. We will then look to the Metal element of Autumn, stimulating the lung and large intestine energy pathways.
Suitable for all abilities, Yin is a patient and peaceful practice where we hold asana or “shapes” for at least 3 minutes in order to find surrender of body and mind, and work deeper into our bodies – think tissues and bone rather than muscle.
Yin Yoga is not a strength-based practice, but a consistent practice can help us have better body stability, mobility, and flexibility.
A perfect complement to more “Yang” styles of practice such as Ashtanga, Vinyasa and Hatha, Yin gives us the time we need in our often busy lives to connect with ourselves and realise our inextricable connection to the world around us.
The workshop will finish with a deeply relaxing Yoga Nidra, inspired by the change of season.
Yoga Nidra does not require any physical movement, simply get yourself comfy lying down and be guided by the sound of my voice.
Join me to surrender, to reflect, to release.
